About Brentwood musical theatre society

Brentwood Musical Theatre Society (‘BMTS’ - formerly Brentwood Operatic Society, ‘BOS’, until 2023) is an award-winning musical theatre group, entertaining the people of Brentwood with musical productions for over 115 years. We are committed to staging top-quality productions for our local community, which showcase the incredible talent we have here in Brentwood and the surrounding area. We truly are a friendly and welcoming bunch who are always happy to welcome new members into our family.

The Society has an elected President, Vice Presidents and a number of life members. The Committee and Officers are elected each year for specified time periods at the Annual General Meeting.

BMTS rehearses and performs two musical productions a year, which are staged in May and October at the Brentwood Theatre.

We rehearse on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7.30 - 10pm, with occasional Sunday rehearsals from 1-5pm. We rehearse mostly at the Brentwood Cricket Ground.

We put on a wide array of productions ranging from classic musicals to the most recent releases. Recent shows have included: Made In Dagenham, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Spamalot, Jesus Christ Superstar, Our House, Disco Inferno, Urinetown, The Wedding Singer, Kipps, Return to the Forbidden Planet, Legally Blonde, Sister Act and The Addams Family!

Our next production is Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, 20-24th May 2025, with Rock of Ages soon after, 21-25th October 2025. Looking forward into 2026, we are very excited to announce that we are going to be performing Evita in May 2026 and our October 2026 show is none other than the incredible Come From Away.
